            What is 4-H?

4-H is a positive youth development organization that empowers young people to reach their full potential. 4-H enables America’s youth to emerge as leaders through hands-on learning, research-based 4-H youth programs and adult mentorship, in order to give back to their local communities.

4-H is in every community and is open to youth ages 8-18, as well as clover clubs for children ages 5-7. Young people in the 4-H community learn leadership, citizenship and a vast array of life skills that benefit them for the rest of their lives. 4-H provides a supportive setting for all youth to reach their fullest potential.

4-H is family friendly, both boys and girls can be members of the same club and 4-H fits busy family schedules as most clubs meet once a month, not every week.

The 4-H Youth Development Program welcomes you to get a glimpse of what 4-H is all about. Take a moment to talk to one of the many 4-Hers or parents to find out why they chose 4-H. Connect with the 4-H community as a 4-H member or volunteer today! Contact your county Extension office for more information to join 4-H and help us in “Making the Best Better”!
