            January 9th, 2011
4-H Art Show at the Art Institute and Gallery: Featuring Work from the Adobe Youth Voices Project

On Sunday January 9th the 4-H program hosted our first annual Art Show at the Art Institute and Gallery (AIG) in Salisbury. The opening was from 2-4pm and in that short time we had almost 100 visitors who braved the cold weather to see some beautiful and unique creations by our very talented 4-Hers. We are truly proud of the hard work each artist has contributed to their final pieces, and we hope you enjoy them as well.  We feature 40 4-H artists and over a 150 pieces, as well as 48 multimedia creations totaling over an hour of footage48 multimedia works such as stop animation, photo essays and short videos comprising just over and hour of eye catching movies.

This has been a wonderful exposure for the University and our regional 4-H program. I am already in the process of making this an official annual art show which will feature 4-H youth work. It is a wonderful professional setting and the art work is already getting  high remarks from the community and the AIG board members. This truly shows the versatile programming that 4-H has to offer and how we are transitioning into the world of arts, communications and technology.

We invite you to attend our Closing Reception on Friday January 21, from 5-7pm, and choose your favorite pieces in our Peoples Choice Awards or "Make Us an Offer" on any of the artwork you see. Information for this can be found on the table in the gallery.
